Exciting News!
Wow, what a great couple of hours; I just got home from a meeting at the board office where a group of teachers got together to discuss addressing homophobia in our schools. I am personally so proud to work in a place where we recognize the importance of providing a safe and welcoming environment for the members of our LGBTQ community and where we can be allies for one another.
Any suggestions as to how we, as teachers and staff, can make Maples a more welcoming place for our LGBTQ students and their allies?

What's in a name?
Any suggestions for a name for our group?
Also, what do you think about the idea of putting together a newsletter? Since one of our goals or objectives was to educate the staff and students at Maples about LGBTQ issues, maybe a newsletter would be a cool way to do that. Thoughts?
